  • My name is Jennifer James I am from Erie, Pennsylvania and currently live in Seattle, WA.
  • I obtained my B.A. in Health and Exercise Science from Gettysburg College in 2003. Went on to work in the medical field for 8 years. Also, obtaining an A.A. Degree in Respiratory Therapy. While none of that is related to Library and Information Science it is part of the path that lead me here.
  • I was fortunate enough to live in Paris, France for a year and discovered the American Library in Paris. It was there, through volunteering, that I decided my calling was to work with Children and Teens to enhancing their love of reading. (This was because the Children and Teen librarian there (Celeste Rhoads) is the most wonderful librarian you will ever meet - Mo Willems even says so.)
  • After Paris, I moved to Germany where I had the opportunity to work in the research library for the George C. Marshall Center for Eastern European Security Studies (Joint German and American Military Base). Here, I helped Foreign National Officers and American Officers research databases and foreign material to present to their security forces on how to handle social, climate, refugee crisis and political changes that is rocking the security of many countries.
  • In 2019 I, graduated from Rutgers University - under advisement from Joyce Valenza, John Schu, Jane Lofton, and Marc Aronson as well as many other amazing professors.
    • Student Taught at Dearborn Park with Craig Seasholes
  • My passions include Cultural Diversity and Inclusion in the classroom.
  • I hope you enjoy and feel free to send me an email!
